Reps begin investigation into alleged disregard of Procurement Act by PDI


The House of Representatives has opened investigations into alleged disregard to the provisions of the Procurement Act in the award of contracts at the Projects Development Institute.

Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila through the Chief Whip, Muhammed Monguno and the Committee chairman, Nasir Ali-Ahmed, underscore the importance of the Procurement Act and the need for agencies of government to abide strictly with its provisions in the award of contracts.

The investigative hearing afforded all concerned, including the suspended Director General, Charles Agulanna, the supervising ministry , represented by the Permanent Secretary, Edet Akpan and the Bureau of Public Procurement an opportunity to present their sides of the story.
