The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola revealed yesterday that the Federal Government spent N178 million on the construction of internal roads at the Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa.
He added that the government is committed to ensuring that roads within tertiary institutions in the country benefit from the Federal Government’s projects.
The Minister revealed this at the handing over of the Federal Government’s intervention of internal roads at Federal Polytechnic Nasarawa, stating that the gap of infrastructure is steadily being bridged gradually.
The Minister, who was represented by Controller of Works Nasarawa state Isaac Dako said there are 43 road interventions within tertiary institutions across Nigeria, out of which 29 roads have been completed and 17 have been handed over to the benefiting schools last year.
The Rector of the institution Abdulahi Alhassan noted that the government has rescued the polytechnic from so many challenges with the construction of the 2 kilometre road.
