The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Yobe Council has expressed support and solidarity on the industrial action embarked upon by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) and Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
In a press statement signed by Muktar Musa Tarbutu, Chairman NLC, Yobe Council and made available to Daily Independent in Damaturu on Tuesday expressed appreciation to the unions for “demanding for their right over financial autonomy of national and state houses of assembly as well as Judicial Commission all over the country”.
“It could be recalled that Mr. President of the federal republic of Nigeria approved financial autonomy for the above mentioned organizations but yet to be implemented”.
The NLC used the forum to call on the striking PASAN and JUSUN union members not to relent their efforts but rather continue pressing on their demands “appropriately without any breach of law and order”.
He assured continued support and partnership in pursuing the struggle of enhanced welfare of the members.
