JOS – House of Representatives member, Honourable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, has defended his recent protest on the floor of the House during the passage of the Electoral Act amendment bill, alleging that someone called Speaker Gbajabiamila a son of a bitch.
According to him, as the representative of the people of Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam Federal Constituency, he would not support any fellow lawmaker calling the Speaker of the House of Representatives Gbajabiamila a son of a bitch on the floor of the House.
Gagdi, who was former Deputy Speaker Plateau House of Assembly, currently representing the people of Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam at National Assembly said he could go to the level of donating his life to the leadership of the House and his Constituents.
He said, “When you serve the people, you are doing service to humanity and service to God.
“I can serve my people to the level of donating my life to them and that is why when House of Representatives leaders were insulted at the National Assembly I demonstrated something that I wouldn’t want to make an issue here.”
Gagdi said: “When the Speaker House of Reps whom the people of PKK said I should be loyal to him was insulted on the floor of the House, I was almost running mad and people misrepresented to me that I was supporting the electoral act, but they don’t know what was the issue.
“I was angry when someone calls Mr Speaker a son of a Bitch, and so also if you call me a son of a bitch here in PKK, you will see the demonstration of what I did in the House by my constituents.”
