Group Partners To Honour Outgoing Permanent Secretary In Yobe

DAMATURU – Network of Yobe Civil Society Organization (NYCSO) in collaboration with Public Service Group have honoured the outgoing Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Abacha Geidam for his contributions to the development of the public finance management sector in Yobe State.

The honor was organized in respect of the retirement of the outgoing Permanent on Friday at the Finance Ministry Complex in Damaturu.

The Executive Director of the Network of Yobe Civil Society Organizations (NYCSO), Alhaji Baba Shehu told DAILY INDEPENDENT that the seasoned civil servant, Mohammed Abacha Geidam is “leaving behind an indelible mark in the Ministry especially his numerous contributions towards revamping and re-strategizing the public finance management sector in the state”.

“Looking at the positions he held up to the time of his retirement, he contributed a lot through reforms to the sector by attracting donor fundings from the financial Organizations such as the European Union (EU), World Bank, DFID, USAID among others.

“He was also behind the establishment of the Yobe State Fiscal and Responsibility Board, Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP) and host of others.”

The ED NYCSO further disclosed that based on these, they find it necessary to recorgnize and honor him to appreciate his legacies.

Reacting, the outgoing Permanent Secretary, thanked the network and other partners for the support and cooperation which according to him enabled his success and urged them to sustain the tempo to his predecessor for the benefit of the state citizens.
