IBADAN – Oyo State Police Command has promised adequate security of lives and properties of the residents and citizens of the State ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations.
The development was conveyed through a press release issued and signed by the State Police Public Relations Officers, DSP Adewale Osifeso, made available to newsmen in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, on Friday.
DSP Osifeso through the statement maintained that the Federal Government has announced Tuesday, July 20th and Wednesday, July 21st, 2021 as public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across the federation.
Sequel to this, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Police Command, CP Ngozi Onadeko, wishes to inform the general public that adequate security measures have been put in place ahead of the 2021 Eid-el-Kabir celebrations and beyond with strategic security deployment spanning the length and breadth of the State.
Furthermore, these deployments would be characterized by; increased visibility policing, aggressive stop and search, convoy patrols and intelligence-led surveillance before, during and after the festivities.
While reminding the general public about the importance of embracing all stipulated COVID-19 protocols especially with the incursion of the Delta Variant in some parts of the country, it is worthy to note that strategic partnerships with sister security agencies alongside local hunters and vigilantes would be intensified.

Lastly, the Commissioner of Police, on behalf of the Officers and men of Oyo State Police Command wishes all Muslim faithful a joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration and urges the good people of Oyo State to remain law-abiding and relentless in providing the Command with credible and reliable information.
