Confusion Over APC Suspension Of Rochas Okorocha

***It’s Work Of Jobbers, Forgers Fifth Columnists – Akpanudedehe

ABUJA – The All Progressives Congress (APC) may have slammed an indefinite suspension on Senator Rochas Okorocha over alleged Anti-Party activities

However, in a quick reaction, Secretary of the party John James Akpanudedehe has denied the suspension letter describing as fake and poor job by fifth columnists working to distabilize the APC . He claimed that his signature and that of the national chairman were copied and pasted on the said letter.

In the purported suspension letter addressed to Okorocha and jointly signed by Governor Mai Mala Buni, chairman of APC Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC and John James Akpanudedehe, the party’s national secretary, the party said Okorocha has violated the code and ethics of party ,warranting the penalty.

Specifically, the letter dates July 12 and with reference number APC/NHDQ/SP/19/022/14 and addressed to me senator representing Imo West in the upper legislative chamber, APC said it is ratifying the suspension of Okorocha by the Imo State chapter of the APC.

The letter read in part; “This is to communicate to you, the National Working Committee (NWC} of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Party ratification of your suspension by the Imo State Chapter of our great party for anti party activities.”

“This suspension follows after the recommendation by the Imo State D disciplinary Committee set up to investigate allegations of gross anti-party activities against you which is in tune with Article 21 (8) 1 VI of the party’s constitution.”

“The letter listed the infractions committed by Okorocha and which necessitated the investigation and subsequent suspension to include continuous discrete meetings with the opposition party both at the state and national level.”

“Working in opposition with the APC -led government in Imo state, Flagrant public abuse on the person and office of the President, Federal Republic of Nigeria (an APC-led government), and sundry disciplinary issues with the party in the state.”

The letter said the party cannot afford to allow such serious disciplinary issues go unpunished and promptly notified the senator of his suspension from the party until otherwise stated

Meanwhile backing his earlier denial of the suspension letter, APC CECPC in a statement insisted that the letter in circulation was fake and did not originate from it .

In the statement entitled :APC Alerts on fake letter of Senator Rochas Okorocha ‘Suspension’ Akpanudedehe accused fifth columnists of being behind the purported letter .

The statement reads; “It has come to the attention of the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that a fake letter of a purported suspension of Senator Rochas Okorocha from the party is circulating in the public space.

‘Fifth columnists and forgers have obviously taken advantage of the unfortunate and recent leaks of our official correspondences with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to copy and paste forged signatures of the CECPC Chaiman and Secretary on equally fake letters.

“The APC does not currently have a “National Working Committee” as stated in the fake letter, but a Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) which has been saddled with the mandate to reposition, unite and strengthen our great party.

“We call on the discerning public to be wary of fifth columnists and jobbers relentlessly scheming to use every opportunity to stoke crisis in the party and polity through fake news.

“We also urge the media to always rely on our well-known and official communication and punlicity channels to get information on the activities of the party.

“We urge everyone to discountenance the fake letter as it is a figment of the imagination of fifth columnists.
