Twelve suspects have been arrested by the Lagos State police command on the heels of the clash between rival groups suspected to be cultists in the Aguda area of Surulere on Sunday.
The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Lagos State, CSP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, made this known in a statement he issued on Sunday.
According to Adejobi, one Munero, a male, was killed in the Aguda incident.
“Arms and ammunition were recovered from the suspects who are helping the police in their investigation.
“Munero is alleged to be a serial killer in the area and was lynched by irate youths.
“We have restored normalcy to the area,” he said.
Adejobi also disclosed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had deployed additional men to the area under the supervision of the “Area C” Commander, ACP, Fatai Tijani.
He added: “We will still arrest more as we continue our investigation into the matter.”
